ORIGINS AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VARIANT
As anticipated, Vinyasa Yoga is a practice that arises from the union of some of the principles belonging to both Ashatnga and Iyengar and is characterized by dynamic movements supported by the breath. In fact - precisely because of its particular characteristics - Vinyasa is often referred to as dynamic yoga.
The word "Vinyasa" has a sanctified origin. In particular, vi means "in a special way", while nyasa corresponds to "to place". Hence the meaning of “doing something in a special way” is attributed to it. Another word that characterizes this style is “Flow” which means “to flow or flow” and refers to the passage between positions.
Vinyasa Yoga Flow is similar to other styles due to the importance attached to the correct execution of asanas and inherits one of the basic assumptions of yoga: perfect alignment of the body during the execution of the movements. What most differentiates it is the fluidity of movements in the transition from one asana to another and the greater muscle strength required for its practice.
Again, full control of the breath is central in dynamic yoga, as it provides an essential aid for the change of position: any movement must be made from it. Furthermore - in this activity - slowness, elegance and agility come together, creating movements similar to a pleasant dance
BENEFITS
Like many other types of yoga in existence, dynamic yoga also boasts various beneficial effects that can be found after constant practice. Meditation and relaxation have an excellent influence on mood and allow you to contain stress and reduce tension.
Thanks to its predilection for certain positions that require an extension of the spine backwards, this style intervenes in a particular way on the forward curvature of the back and shoulders, shaping and correcting the posture.
There is still an improvement in the musculoskeletal system, which is stimulated and strengthened. Again as a result of the asanas performed, a strong decompression of the vertebrae is carried out, which become much stronger and more flexible. All this further benefits the back thanks to a reduction of pain and discomfort in the spine.
All the improvements in the muscles go to optimize performance also in other sports, because they allow you to acquire greater awareness and discovery of yourself and your body. In addition, dynamic yoga helps to keep fit, activates the metabolism and facilitates weight loss.
